Effects of second-order dispersion of ultrashort laser pulse on stimulated Raman scattering

نویسندگان

چکیده

Abstract The influence of second-order dispersion (SOD) on stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) in the interaction an ultrashort intense laser with plasma was investigated. More significant backward SRS observed increase absolute value SOD ( $\mid \kern-1pt\!{\psi}_2\!\kern-1pt\mid$ ). integrated intensity scattered light is positively correlated to driver pulse duration. Accompanied by side SRS, filaments different angles along propagation direction were transverse shadowgraph. A model incorporating Landau damping and above-threshold ionization developed explain SOD-dependent angular distribution filaments.

Amplification of an ultrashort pulse laser by stimulated Raman scattering of a 1 ns pulse in a low density plasma

Experiments are described in which a 1 mJ, 1 ps, 1200 nm seed laser beam is amplified by the interaction with an intersecting 350 J, 1 ns, 1054 nm pump beam in a low density 1 1019 /cm3 plasma. The transmission of the seed beam is observed to be enhanced by 25 when the plasma is near the resonant density for stimulated Raman scattering, compared to measured transmissions at wavelengths just bel...

Strongly coupled large-angle stimulated Raman scattering of short laser pulse in plasma-filled capillary

Strongly coupled large-angle stimulated Raman scattering sLA SRSd of a short intense laser pulse develops in a plane plasma-filled capillary differently than in a plasma with open boundaries. Coupling the laser pulse to a capillary seeds the LA SRS in the forward direction sscattering angle smaller than p /2d and can thus produce a high instability level in the vicinity of the entrance plane. I...

Second Harmonic Stimulated Raman Scattering of Laser Radiation in a Plasma

A high-power linearly polarized laser propagating through a plasma produces oscillatory electron velocity at the second harmonic due to the v x B force. This velocity couples a Langmuir wave (ui,k) and an electromagnetic wave (wi,fci), where w\ = LO 2u0 , fei = k — 2kQ and u>0, k0 are frequency and wavenumber of the laser pump, causing second harmonic Raman scattering. The growth rate is maximu...
